Long retired after forty-five years as a deputy sheriff, private investigator and senior executive on the corporate security staff of a Fortune 500 company, I now have time to indulge my passion for writing, shooting and photography. Bob’s Blog gives me a platform to keep my readers informed and perhaps entertained. I write about the things that I know about from past experience, heavily embellished for literary purposes, and a lifetime of working with some fairly salty characters.
The photo of Pike’s Peak was taken from the Rampart Range Road above my former home in Woodland Park. We got the hell out of the Houston as soon as I retired and moved to Colorado. Alas, as the years past and we got older, the altitude at 8,500 feet above sea level forced a return to the Texas hill country and blistering summers. The air at 150 feet above sea level has a much high oxygen content, solving some health problems. This getting old stuff ain’t for kids.
